Reading Quran During Ramadan – Quran Majeed App

Most of our lives, when we are faced with adversity and trials, we begin questioning where God is, why isn’t he intervening, why isn’t He speaking to us, why isn’t He guiding us. However, Allah is always talking to us, always guiding us out of our problems, always intervening in our emotional state. All we need to do is listen. Now think about it, Allah is not going to communicate with you like humans do. Instead, He has chosen mediums of worship through which you interact with Him and He interacts with you. Yes, your Salah and Dua are times when you speak to Him and the Quran is Him speaking to you. Now before you hold that Holy Book in your hands, do you realize how powerful this is?

So when was the last time you read the Quran?

If you don’t remember, then chances are that it’s been right there in a corner or a shelf, gathering dust. But is that the rightful place of the word of God? No!

Quite contrary to public opinion, the Qur’an deserves to be read and re-read over and over again. It deserves to be understood and memorized and sunk deep into the heart.

It’s wisdom is meant to be realized and implemented in your life.

How to Complete the Quran in Ramadan

The best time to read the Quran…

Reciting the Quran has many benefits – both spiritual and worldly. But the best time of the year is Ramadan because it is from the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

Ibn ‘Abbas narrates, saying, “The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) was the most generous person, and he would be at his most generous in Ramadan because Jibril would come to him every night and he would study the Quran with him. Truly, when Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) would meet Gabriel, he would be more generous than a fleeting wind.”

In another narration, the Prophet (peace be upon him) is reported to have told his beloved daughter Fatima (r.a), “Jibril used to revise the Quran with me once every year, but this year he has revised it with me twice. I do not suspect but that my time has come. And you shall be the first of my household to join me.”

What is more, in Ramadan, the rewards of each good deed you do are increased 70 times. Imagine how many rewards you get to earn right from making the intention to reading each individual alphabet and re-establishing your connection with the Quran.

There’s more to it…

The Quran you read during Ramadan must not be restricted to Taraweeh and tahajjud prayers. No.

Our effort as a Muslim must be to understand it – even if it’s a single verse. When we understand it, then only will be able to the question haunting us in our hard times and change our lives beyond Ramadan.

Completing the Quran in a month can look like a daunting task. But it isn’t. All you need is proper time management. Decide how many Soorah’s or pages you want to complete in a day and adhere strictly to it. Read it whenever you are free – either from a Mushaf or from a convenient reading app. The choice is yours, the benefit is also yours.
