Yahoo Answers has shut down as of May 4, 2021. Yahoo Answers was once a key part of Yahoo’s products and services, but it has declined in popularity over the years as the needs of our members have changed. We decided to shift our resources away from Yahoo Answers to focus on products that better serve our members and deliver on Yahoo’s promise of providing premium trusted content. 

As of May 4, 2021 you can no longer access the site, but you can still request a download of your Yahoo Answers data until June 30, 2021. To assist you with this transition we’ve compiled a list of questions that may come up during this process.

Will this impact my Yahoo Account or other Yahoo services?

No, these changes are specific to Yahoo Answers. They won’t impact your Yahoo Account or any other Yahoo services.

Where should I go when I have questions in the future?

Yahoo Search can be used to find answers and info from the web. Our Yahoo COVID page provides info and resources about the Coronavirus pandemic.

Can I download my Yahoo Answers content?

What content is available to me?

Your Yahoo Answers data download will return all user-generated content, including your questions, answers and images. You won’t be able to download other users’ content, questions, or answers.

Do I have to download my content?

No, the content download is optional. However, if you choose to download your content, you have to do so before June 30, 2021.

When will I get my Yahoo Answers content?

Our team works as fast as possible to make data available, but it can take up to 30 days to receive your content download.

I downloaded my Yahoo Answers content, how do I view it?

Your content will be formatted in JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) and might be hard to look through at a glance. We have resources on viewing and managing your account data that can help you understand your data download.
