Local favorite Lower Lonsdale farm-to-table restaurant, Winston, is in full swing this February, introducing innovative new culinary options for its brunch and dinner service, with special multi-course menus and a choice of natural wines Pairings to help guests celebrate Valentine’s Dayday.

Start Thursday 3 FebruaryExecutive Chef Douglas Lee New brunch and dinner fares will be launched, highlighting his philosophy of combining off-the-beaten-season ingredients from local farms and foragers with global flavours in innovative ways.

Available from 5pm Wednesday to Saturday, Winston’s new dinner menu will include the following dishes Crispy fingerlings (whipped garlic, timid jalapeños, parsley, 288 spices); Billionaire’s Cabbage (animal pate, truffle white cheddar, pepper); and Open Sheep Neck Sweater (oven juice, vegetables, crispy toppings),etc.Adventurous diners can also sit back and let Chef Lee and his team prepare a variety of dishes by choosing from Winston’sChef’s Roulette Tasting Menu’.

One of the new dishes – BBQ Snow Fungus (Mapo Bolognese, Lemongrass, Chili Flakes) — is Chef Li’s personal selection that perfectly highlights his innovative way of incorporating and preparing traditional ingredients (in this case, Chinese), a recipe that’s vegan-friendly and has a meat-like resemblance texture and flavor.

Also available starting Thursday, February 3, Wednesday-Monday, 9am-2:30pm, Winston’s new Brunch Menu will have something like Beretta Beef Sandwich (Homemade Sesame Bun, Braised Beef with Tomato and Black Pepper, Emmental, Mini Potato Chips); Billionaire’s Bowl (fregula, vegetable macédoine, avocado, pizza vinaigrette, optional additional egg); and a Winston Breakfast (Two eggs, any style, Bad Dog Bakery sourdough, spiced avocado, potatoes, Rocana bacon or home BBQ seitan).

Since it first opened in 2020, and in keeping with Winston, staff have made a conscious effort to provide delicious, healthy options while meeting a range of dietary requirements and lifestyle choices, with most dishes on the menu clearly marked as vegetarian (V ) or Vegetarian Optional (VO), Gluten Free (GF), Gluten Sensitive (GFO), Dairy (DF) and/or Dairy Sensitive (DFO).

Valentine’s DayS day dinner service
February 11-14

On Valentine’s Day, Winston will help guests express their love with an exclusive dinner service from Friday, February 11 to Monday, February 14 in its lower level or more private higher level enclave. The multi-course menu is $65 plus tax per person, and the optional “Server’s Choice” wine flight offers five 2-ounce glasses of natural wine that pair perfectly with each plate for an additional $25 plus tax per person.

The Winston wine list is curated by owner and wine director Andrew Boutilier and features a variety of key natural, biodynamic and low-intervention wines from British Columbia’s backyard and beyond, such as: Cipes Blanc de Blanc shiny (Okanagan Valley),Joue White Field Blend at Averill Creek(Vancouver Island),Scout Vineyard Shiraz(Simikamin Valley) and Merlot at Echo Bay Vineyards(Okanagan Falls), Bottles can also be taken away.
