What Day Is Thanksgiving On, When and How to Watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

The seasons are officially shifting—that’s becoming increasingly obvious the second we step out the door. And with the change of cooler weather comes the realization that we’re truly kicking off the beginning of the holiday season! October tends to stay pretty dedicated to all things Halloween, with scary movies on our watch-lists, pumpkin projects at our fingertips, and costume ideas on our minds. But before we know it, Thanksgiving will be upon us!

Fortunately, we still have plenty of time to look into how to cook the perfect turkey, and plan out what sides we’re going to make (gimme all the spaghetti squash!). Not to mention, we can start to practice making gratitude a daily ritual—not just a topic of conversation around the dinner table.

Marching bands from schools across the country and a variety of professional dance groups will be showcasing their music and moves throughout the three-hour block.

And, as always, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will have an incredible line-up of popular performers. In the past couple of years, we have seen John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, Kelsea Ballerini, and more, take the stage. The list of featured acts for this year has not been released yet, but it’s sure to be impressive! Stay tuned, as we’ll be adding the performers once they’re announced.
