Verde Sputters Valentine’s Day Lunch | Sporty

On Monday, February 7, 58 Sputter members gathered at Vistas for the regular meeting and Valentine’s Day luncheon. The table is decorated with chocolate and red velvet bundt cakes.

The February Luncheon Committee not only set up a luncheon, set up the table, but also set up a putter “joy day” to make the class even more challenging. The committee consists of Marilyn Palatas, Sue Ryan, Marianne Lyons, Janet Knowles, Donna Lemier, Tara O’Donnell and Sue Cluley.

Mickey Levich won a free lunch (will she share?). We sang Happy Birthday to the ladies who had their February birthdays and they were all a year younger. Donna Bujnovsky was awarded her 39 stars. Congrats Donna!

The trivia question is the anxiety many of us have on Valentine’s Day and its history. We have ten true-false questions and ten multiple-choice questions. The winning table came 11 out of 20 correct. We only got three correct or wrong answers, so we fell behind early in the race. Next up is a delicious chicken parm and strawberry shortcake. Yes, there are salads, but do we really care that much about salads when we know dessert is coming…

We have started registration for the Sputters/Ranchettes event on Monday, March 7th. We hope all of you will sign up for this event. We will need 36 sputtering machines. Lunch at HOA-1 costs $20 and the menu is a turkey and brie burrito with turkey, brie, cranberry chutney, and shredded lettuce in a tortilla; dessert is a cherry pie with vanilla ice cream . The deadline for this event is Monday, February 28. Entry forms will be available every Monday on Putting Day. All members are welcome to attend the luncheon.

Monday, March 21st will be at MountainView. Registration with menu choices and prices will be available soon. Opal Larkin is hosting the event on their putting course with the MountainView putter. We will need 36 Splashers to participate.

In April, we will be hosting the Marj Cattrell Invitational. This will be a fun activity followed by dinner at the HOA-1 clubhouse. A lot of interesting events are happening. Hope to see you there!
