Monique Sammut and Anthony Desany from Sycamore Youth Centre in Steubenville delivered 175 packages to Dixon Wellness Centre in Wintersville on Valentine’s Day morning, including a blanket, toiletries, a winter hat, a snack and a card. Facility representative and East Ohio Correctional Center at Interstate 43 in Wintersville. They were able to personally distribute the packages to some of the residents of Dixon’s, “who were very surprised and delighted to be remembered. Some of them mentioned how grateful they were for what was included in each package,” Sammut noted. “Winter is a lonely and dreary time, especially unforgettable on Valentine’s Day. We are grateful, blessed and humbled to be able to spread some joy to those of us and remind them that they are not alone and certainly not would be forgotten,” Sammut said, adding, “This outreach would not have been possible without our generosity and support. All who donated to our winter 2021/2022 kits.”
