There will be a special Valentine’s Day market in Lisburn next weekend that will be attended by many local independent traders.

Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council have announced a market event at Castle Gardens on Saturday 12 February, where children will have the opportunity to make their own gifts.

The market will bring together a diverse range of artisans and traders, from award-winning bakers to teenage farmers and jewelry makers.

Alderman Amanda Grehan, Chair of the Development Committee, said: “We are very much looking forward to bringing a new perspective to this month’s popular dining event by hosting a Valentine’s Day-themed market in Lisbon Castle Gardens in February.

“Whether you’re getting hit by Cupid’s arrow and looking for the perfect gift for your loved one this Valentine’s Day, or you’re keen to support local merchants as part of your Saturday shopping, we want a wide range of visitors to explore the fair A wide variety of specialties, artisan crafts and delicacies.”

The Lisburn Valentine’s Day Market hopes to promote a talented and thriving community of local independent merchants such as Blixt Bakery, Rosie McNeill Cakes, The Daily Apron, Ellie Mac Candles, Lisa’s Buttons & Bows and Pink Pepper Design.

Local teenage farmer Nicholas Dennison from Rock Road Farm will also be showcasing his rare pork offerings including bacon, pork shoulder and ribs.

Urban Street Grub, The Rovin Stove, Ret Ro’s Grilled Cheese and The Curious Farmer will serve hot meals and their popular menus throughout the day, while musical groups Harmony Ladies Choir and Lisburn Uke’s will perform throughout the day, with singer-songwriter Kyle J. Milk.

The Lisbon Valentine’s Market will take place on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 10am to 2pm at the Castle Gardens of Lisbon.
