PARKVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) — In downtown Pikeville, there’s a lot to do on weekdays, but on Saturday, small businesses are planning a lot for Valentine’s Weekend.

Some notable events include Comedy Nights at Appcycled, “Shopping, Sweets & Sips” at Mall 225, and live music in the lobby.

“So, if you’re not looking for a steady date, but you’re tired of Applebee’s usual date night, feel free to join us,” says Jasmine Meade, owner of Appcycled. “Saturday, Broken Throne Brewing will have live music in the lobby, then 225 will be hosting events throughout the day on Saturday, including tastings, cocktails.”

These events have shop owners excited to share the night with the community and meet new people.

“Every event we’ve had since opening has been fantastic,” said Kate & Kris boutique owner Tina Maynard. “We’ve met a lot of new people, whether they’re clients or not, people who keep coming back, which is really good.”

Whether you came alone, with your significant other, or just with family and friends, the owners will say you had a great time here.

“I wish my husband would come out and play for a while, but we usually always have kids,” Maynard said. “It’s like a small family event, and I mean it’s a great family event.”

While there’s some construction going on on Second and Division Street, don’t let that stop you from coming out and having fun, Meade and Maynard said.
