Raunchy New ‘Furry’ Toy Released for Valentine’s Day

💕

Is this fur real?

Mainstream companies are launching sexy new items that appear to be sold in the furry subculture – just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Furries are an anthropomorphic community whose members sometimes dress up as animals at meetings or have a special “fursona” associated with them.

At least 250,000 Americans consider themselves “hairy,” and many fanatics use the subculture to explore their sexuality.

Make no mistake, Build-A-Bear, which has been selling plush toys for kids since 1997, has now developed a line of raunchy “After Dark” bears for adults through February 14th.

“Who says stuffed toys are just for kids? Why should they have fun?” reads the promo for the mischievous new “After Dark” series. “The Build-A-Bear stuffed animal gift line has something for everyone.”

One of the teddy bears in the collection is dressed in a Hugh Hefner style silk robe. In a promotional image, the toy is placed on a plush carpet next to a red rose and two glasses of champagne, as if to lure someone.

BarkBox — a company that sells dog products, services and experiences — has gone a step further, creating “Bark After Dark,” a line of dog toys clearly designed to appeal to furry “unintentionally spicy” dogs.

“Ahead of Valentine’s Day, BARK, the maker of the BarkBox, is releasing a new line of toys to help dogs and dog parents embrace their truest selves,” the company enthused in an email promotion.

Of particular interest is a stuffed dog toy named “Furry Murray” – a fictional character who likes to dress up as a squirrel and wear a thong.

The collection also includes several dog toys shaped like adult sex toys, including a “bacon-flavored party favor” that retails for $12.

Furry has been around for decades, but recently a Michigan school was rumored to have put a litter box in one of its bathrooms for “kids who identify as cats.” The rumors were later debunked.

“It’s a shame that the furry community still endures (some) negative portrayals in the media and public misconceptions about the deviant, because the truth about this extraordinary and resilient community is far more interesting,” said Sharon E. Roberts, associate professor at the University of Dr Waterloo and co-founder of the International Anthropomorphic Research Project told the Post.

Meanwhile, orcs like Joe Strike are on track, believing that, over time, the community will benefit from an increasingly de-stigmatized and mainstream subculture.

“I think that focus will help us in the long run,” said Joe Strike, who considers himself a furry and author of the 2017 book “Furry” Nation,” he told the Post.
