Drummond says it’s a “special” dessert that requires little effort. She uses superhero shortcuts to make her dark chocolate cherry loaf cake. Instead of making the cake from scratch, she uses a boxed cake mix. The best part about using a boxed mix is that you can add your favorite ingredients and customize the recipe to suit your taste, Drummond says.

For an “additional” ingredient to the brownies, Drummond added dark chocolate chips. For the frosting, she uses a pink frosting made of powdered sugar, milk, candied cherries, and red food coloring. Drummond is a fan of this frosting because it contains candied cherries but doesn’t have a strong cherry flavor. She warns home cooks not to overuse cherries. After frosting the loaf cake, Drummond sprinkled it with chocolate chips. You can find full ingredients and instructions here.

For Valentine’s Day, Drummond put a “fancy spin” on her usual salad. She said she usually makes roasted tomatoes and Caesar salad. For this recipe, she not only roasted tomatoes, but also lemons and lettuce.

Drummond started with a head of romaine lettuce. She brushes the cut side of the lettuce with olive oil and sprinkles salt and pepper on top. She does the same with tomatoes and lemons.

Next, Drummond placed the lettuce, tomatoes, and lemon cut-side down. Afterwards, she makes Caesar dressing for the salad. Drummond starts by placing the anchovies in a food processor. She added minced garlic, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar and Dijon mustard.

Next, Drummond adds Worcestershire sauce along with salt and pepper. She briefly runs the food processor to mix the food. Afterwards, Drummond checked the vegetables to make sure they weren’t burnt.

Then she finished the dressing by slowly adding olive oil to the food processor while pulsing the machine. The last ingredient Drummond adds is parmesan cheese. You can find the full ingredient list and instructions here.

3. Ree Drummond’s Crispy Herb Chicken Chop Recipe

Drummond uses three plates to help her complete what she calls a “bread assembly line.” Pioneer women put flour, salt and pepper in the first course. She added a beaten egg and milk to the second course. For the third course, Drummond added panko breadcrumbs, chopped oregano, thyme and rosemary in addition to salt and pepper. She said you could also add parmesan cheese to the mixture if you wanted.

Next, Drummond started breading the chicken. She scooped up the chicken first with flour, then the egg and milk mixture, then the vanilla crumb mixture. She said it was important to pat the chicken and make sure it was thoroughly coated.

Next, Drummond heats the butter in a pan. She put the breaded chicken in the pan. After a few minutes, Drummond turned the chicken chop over. She warns home cooks not to cook the patties for too long because they will dry out. As soon as she took the chicken out of the frying pan, she sprinkled it with sea salt.
