Miranda Lambert donates $20,000 to animal shelters on Valentine’s Day

There’s no denying that country star Miranda Lambert is an animal lover. She started her foundation in 2009 to help find loving families for homeless dogs. She has been known to donate to small animal shelters.

In 2022, with the Academy of Country Music nominating Lambert as Artist of the Year, she donated another $20,000 to the shelter in honor of Valentine’s Day.

Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation promises to ‘put spotlight on rescue animals and shelters’

According to Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation, who started volunteering at animal shelters as a teenager, “her love for animals has always been a big part of her.”

So she has her own line of rescue animals. She also encouraged her fans and others to adopt from shelters and volunteer their time.

According to the website, “To help people focus on rescue animals and shelters, Miranda and her mom Bev Lambert founded the MuttNation Foundation in 2009 to ensure as many dogs as possible have a safe and happy place to be. Call it home.”

Their stated mission is to “promote and facilitate the adoption of shelter pets, encourage the spaying and neutering of all pets, and educate the public about the importance and beneficial impact of these actions.”

In honor of Valentine’s Day in 2022, Lambert distributed $20,000 to 20 small animal shelters. She sees the holiday as “another opportunity to show what makes them special. [her]. “

“Shelter pets — especially the hardest to adopt — and the people who care for them, have always been in my heart,” Lambert said, adding that Fox Nashville released a “Love Donation” on the 17th. List of recipients.

Lambert told Modern Dog Magazine, “Just like music, animals have always been a part of my life.”

“We’ve never had pets,” she continued. “I can’t imagine what that would be like.”

The country star details collecting a small group of dogs, starting with a Chihuahua/pug mix called Delta. “She’s been at Sonic Drive-In for about a week. I took her home and she’s not well and I’m taking care of her to get back to health,” she said. “She ended up backstage at the Las Vegas show, and it seemed like there was an immediate element of her.”

Cher is a Chihuahua and when she goes with a friend to adopt a new partner for them, she comes home from the shelter with Lambert, not her. But when she saw her, she knew they were meant to be.

Delilah, a mixed breed dog, was Lambert’s first “adopted”. She lists two golden retrievers, Jesse and Waylon. In fact, she probably has about eight dogs, according to a 2018 Twitter post.

The pictures show five cute dogs, with a description of three more. “I also have a flock of chickens, two pot-bellied pigs, three ponies, three horses and three cats,” Lambert told Modern Dog.

“Every animal has a special place in my heart. Especially my dogs – some of them go anywhere with me,” she explained. “They’re like my kids, with their own unique personalities.”
