Meghan and Harry’s ‘low-key’ Valentine’s Day as ‘family unit’ – ‘different’ from royals

Charlotte Johnson, sex and relationship expert at Mega Pleasure, explains how Meghan and Harry spent Valentine’s Day this year.

She said: “This year I suspect Meghan and Harry will spend Valentine’s Day at their home in Los Angeles with their two young children.

“After announcing their second pregnancy in black and white on Valentine’s Day last year, this year is their first Valentine’s Day as a family of four, so I’m sure the couple will want to celebrate the day as a family unit.”

The relationship expert said the couple’s Valentine’s Day would be more “relaxed” than they were in the royal family, and would be very different from how other royals such as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated the holiday.

She said: “During the couple’s blockbuster interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry also appeared to criticise the way Prince Charles raised him, discussing the royal family’s ‘genetic pain and suffering’ and stressing that he wanted to ‘break Loop’ for his children.

“Now that the couple have left the royal family and are living in America, Harry says his shoulders have ‘dropped’ and he feels more free.

“It shows that Valentine’s Day for the couple will now be different than usual and we can look forward to a more relaxing day with the kids, away from the public eye.”

But how exactly did Meghan and Harry celebrate the most romantic day of the year in Los Angeles?

According to Charlotte, “there’s a good chance the couple will spend this Valentine’s Day with the kids at their home in Los Angeles”.

Back in 2015, Meghan shared her advice for those spending Valentine’s Day alone.

Speaking on her blog The Tig, she said: “I think you need to be your own lover. I think even if it’s just you, you need to cook a beautiful dinner, put on your favourite clothes, buy yourself Get some flowers and celebrate ourselves – love tends to get messy when we focus on what we don’t have.

“[…] I don’t wait for someone to buy me something I crave (nor do I want to) because I want to be kind to myself, just like I would treat those dearest.

“Because I’m my own funny lover.

“Whether you have someone special, you’ll be with friends, or you’ll be flying solo, be nice to yourself. Love yourself, be kind to yourself, respect yourself, celebrate yourself. Be yourself beautiful, dear, cherish and have fun Valentine, you deserve it.”

“Meghan’s attitude towards Valentine’s Day has definitely changed since meeting Harry,” says the relationship expert.

Charlotte explained: “Meghan and Harry started dating in 2016 and got engaged to the couple, who lived in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace, the following year.

“Going at a relatively quick pace, it’s clear she knows she’s got the right fit.”
