If his polling numbers are any indication, President Biden could use a little love.

On Monday morning, the president and first lady Jill Biden returned to Washington from Camp David and walked hand in hand across the White House grounds, which were decorated with Valentine’s Day hearts.

The first couple married in 1977, and the first lady stepped out of Marine One wearing sneakers and a white floral corsage on her wrist.

“You are the love of my life and the love of my life, Gilly. Happy Valentine’s Day,” the president posted on his official Twitter account, along with a photo of the pair sitting on the beach as young adults.

Biden also wished his wife “Happy Valentine’s Day” as he entered the White House.

As she did last year, the first lady decorated the White House lawn with a heart-shaped message. One was made into a big red heart, quoting from 1 Corinthians 13:13: “Three things will be forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of them all is love .”

The decorations are flanked by decoupages of the Bidens’ new dog Commander and their cat Willow.

Both pets are depicted wearing heart-shaped collars.

Jill Biden also posted bible verses on her official account, along with “From our family to yours: Happy Valentine’s Day” and emojis of hearts, paw prints and a cat.

In a video that aired during Sunday’s Puppy Bowl, the first lady told viewers, “Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays because it’s all about love.”

Inside the White House, the First Lady displayed a “work of the heart” crafted by second-graders at Ayton Elementary School in Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C. Teacher of the Year Alejandro Diasgranados and about 20 students arrived at the White House Monday afternoon to tour the decorations with the first lady.

Students were asked to use the following words in the heart design – compassion, courage, family, gratitude, healing, hope, kindness, love, peace, strength, and unity.

It’s the only time Biden is scheduled to make a public appearance on Monday, days after a new CNN poll showed that about a third of Americans said they could not think of his first appearance as president. A good thing to do in a year.
