Issa Rae Lists Los Angeles Home on Airbnb for $56/Day on Valentine’s Weekend

Issa Rae gave fans the chance to spend some romantic time at her South Los Angeles home over Valentine’s Day weekend.

In partnership with Airbnb, the “Insecure” and “Awkward Black Girl” star and creator even curated an itinerary for lucky guests.

Pre-orders will begin at 1pm EST on February 8th, from Saturday, February 12th to Valentine’s Day on Monday, February 14th for $56 per night for one stay.

The 37-year-old actor, writer and producer revealed the idea was to highlight black culture in Los Angeles, describing himself as a “proud South Los Angeles native.”

“I invite guests to spend a weekend in my hometown and experience the cultures, businesses and communities that influence my storytelling on screen,” Rae said in the Airbnb listing. “I can’t wait to show guests all the things that make Black Los Angeles so special.”

“The streets, sights and sounds of my hometown have always been the protagonists of my writing. You may have heard that I support every black person — a mission inspired by my Los Angeles community. I hope you enjoy this epic weekend The rich history of my community and its many contributions to Los Angeles,” continued Rae.

Rae also said that guests can chat with her virtually during their stay.

“Los Angeles has a lot of unique neighborhoods, but I have a soft spot for South Los Angeles,” Rae said of the area.

“It’s exciting to see the community get the attention it deserves as everyone gears up for football’s favorite Sunday,” she continued on the list. “From Leimert Park or View Park to Inglewood and Baldwin Hills, you’ll quickly learn why South Los Angeles has some of the best yet lesser-known food, art, creativity and culture in the city.”
