Happy songs about friendship? | Yahoo Answers

When I made an audio tribute to my best friend, I used the CD single, “Best Friend”, by Brandy. It’s a very bouncy tune with a little hip-hop to it. Another bouncy tune that someone else mentioned was “Thank You for Being a Friend,” written by Andrew Gold, sung by many, that came out when I was a teenager 30 years ago, but was used partially as the “Golden Girls” TV show theme. Another great buddy song was “Me and You and a dog named Boo,” by Lobo.

The Rembrandts had “I’ll Be There For You,” which was another sitcom theme, as was “The Courtship of Eddie’s Father” (people let me tell you ’bout my best friend…), but I doubt you’d find a version of it that was at least three minutes long.

Elton John wrote the music soundtrack to the movie, “Friends”, but you couldn’t dance to it. I remember Gladys Knight and the Pips’ “Friendship Train,” which you certainly COULD dance to! Oh, and there’s Cole Porter’s “Friendship, friendship, just a perfect blend-ship..” ah, well, you know how HE wrote!

I’ve always liked Amy Grant’s version of “Oh, How the Years Go By,” a wonderful song about two people who are always there for each other…it’s poignancy may not be your cup of tea, though.

Well, I hope this helps. You can Google “friendship songs” and find just about anything you want to!
