The best part about this special vacation is that you don’t have to limit your fun to one day either.

Shopping at Love’s Local Valentine’s Artisan Market

You’ll find Love Local Valentine’s Artisan Market at Hartville Night Market at 620 South Street in Raleigh on Fridays from 6-8pm. Small businesses and local manufacturers will line up to enter the market, giving you the perfect shopping opportunity. The event itself is free to visit, but be sure to be prepared to purchase some of the unique items you’ll find here.

The bar will also be open while you shop, so you can sip a cold beer or wine while you shop. If you’re craving cheese and a deli board, you’re in luck. Femme Fromage & Co will be there to serve all those delicious needs!

Take your loved one or the whole family for a day at the market.

Valentine’s Day with the goat

This is a unique way of vacationing compared to goats. Spring Haven Farm at 5306 Homer Ruffin Road in Chapel Hill is a great place to see these animals. Guests will have many fun opportunities to hang out with the goats. The farm hosts many wonderful events for you to enjoy with your family.

You can find a list of these events on their website. Be sure to check them out before choosing a date and time. Once you know when you want to see the goat, don’t forget to make an appointment.

Advance registration is required for a certain period of time.

North Carolina Museum of Art

If you and your loved ones are interested in art, you’ll be exploring the North Carolina Museum of Art this Valentine’s Day. Here, you’ll find more than a dozen art galleries, all guaranteed to spark conversation. The types of artwork you’ll see here range from African and Jewish art to Egyptian and European art, and more!

After exploring all the wonderful galleries in the museum, stop by the museum’s Iris restaurant to satisfy your appetite. Don’t forget to indulge in one of their delicious desserts. Then, head to the Ann and Jim Goodnight Museum Park.

Here you will find monumental public art installations. It’s a great way to spend Valentine’s Day enjoying art.

Live music, cold beer, trivia and more

If you’re looking for a fun and free Valentine’s Day event, be sure to check out the Durty Bull Brewing Company at 206 Broadway in Durham. There will be live music on February 12th from 4-6pm. You can also participate in trivia twice a month on Sundays and Thursdays.

The third Saturday of every month is a local maker and antique market. This Valentine’s Day, the brewing company is offering Movie Club Gifts from 7 to 9:30 p.m.: True Romance. The event is also free.

Splurge at the Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary

Did you get a chance to experience the Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary? If not, then Valentine’s Day is the day to do so. Even if you’ve experienced this amazing hotel in the past, you know how wonderful a Valentine’s weekend can be.

This hotel offers many wonderful leisure activities for couples. The two of you can sit by the lake with a glass of wine or get a couples massage before heading to Heron’s (the hotel’s restaurant) for dinner. What is unique about this restaurant?

The chefs there use herbs and produce grown on the hotel farm and find there aren’t many miles to go.

Valentine’s Day Edition of Carolina Sky Planetarium Show

If you’re passionate about the sky and planets, it’s time to plan a visit to the Carolina Sky Planetarium show for Valentine’s Day. Located at the Morehead Planetarium at 250 E. Franklin St., the show brings a little twist to date night. In this show, you will get a guided tour of the universe.

You will also explore all the love legends told by various ancient cultures, sky objects and constellations. There are various showtimes on February 12th and 13th.

Remember, this show is for teens and seniors. Not recommended for young children.

Tickets are on sale now, so be sure to snap up as soon as possible and remember to bring a mask as masks are required.

Valentine’s Day Karaoke Party with School of Rock

At 8 p.m. Valentine’s Day, the School of Rock at Local 506 (506 W. Franklin St., Chapel Hill) will be hosting a Valentine’s Day Karaoke Party. Doors open at 7pm and the event is free. Local 506 is an all-ages rock club.

For this reason, feel free to bring the whole family! Everyone can get together to celebrate this holiday, sing some of their favorite songs and have a lot of fun.

Who says Valentine’s Day has to be extravagant? For families and couples who like to see all the local restaurant specials, this list of fast food Valentine’s Day specials will make your day even better! Here’s what you need to know:

Love Story and Heartbreak Walking Tour

In downtown Raleigh, you can take the Love Story and Broken Heart walking tour. On this tour, you’ll learn about the city’s little-known love stories. As you stroll through the city center, you’ll stop at historic places.

You’d be surprised how many interesting love stories can be told and learned about Raleigh’s history. You can take this tour on Valentine’s Day from 2-4 p.m., starting at 200 N. Blount St. The tour itself is free, but donations are encouraged.

Take a Virtual Baking Class

A great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day safely and comfortably at home is to learn how to bake and cook beautiful desserts and meals with your loved ones. The two of you can enjoy the combined experience of creating a variety of dishes.

The best part about this idea is that you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your home to do this. You can take this baking class with Lionel Vatinet from La Farm. You’ll learn about the history and romance of French wine and enjoy some special guest appearances.

ATB Valentine’s Day Love Festival

The next event is for all singles on Valentine’s Day. No, you are not alone. There are many other singles on this special holiday.

Why not spend a day getting to know them? You can do it at the ATB Valentine’s Day Love Festival. Cornerstone Tavern (603 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh) welcomes singles and couples!

The party will feature dining, music, dancing and many other fun things the ATB team has prepared for the event. The event fee is $10 if you pay in advance and $20 when you pay at the door.
