Florist works overtime to make Valentine’s Day a success

Ellsworth, Maine (WABI) — Today is the busiest day of the year for many of the state’s florists. For some, Valentine’s Day 2022 is a record year.

“This was probably our busiest Valentine’s Day in seventeen years,” said Barbara Courchesne, owner of Bud Connection.

Florists like The Bud Connection don’t wait until the last minute to get ready for Valentine’s Day, knowing that many of their customers will.

“We started preparations on December 26,” Courchesne said. “We order. We get vases. All our chocolates are pre-boxed. We’ve got the rosettes ready. Some Bud Connection employees started work at 4:30 a.m. Monday, which Courchesne said was a long day for everyone.

“I might have a margarita on my phone later today.”

“Overall, it’s just about making other people feel good today, and now it’s fine. It’s a beautiful thing,
