Colorado Springs Police Department Hosts 3rd Annual Valentine’s Day Contest

COLORADO SPRINGS (KKTV) – The Colorado Springs Police Department is hosting its third annual Valentine’s Day contest.

CSPD headquarters has been Lieutenant Flash’s home for the past six months, but now the residents of Colorado Springs have the opportunity to give him a forever home. CSPD asks people to make the most creative homemade Valentine’s Day cards for police. CSPD Head Niski will select the top three cards and share them on social media for the community to vote on.

The overall winner will receive Lieutenant Lightning and be escorted by SWAT to the winner’s home. At the conclusion of the contest, all submitted Valentine’s Day cards will be distributed to CSPD officers across the city.

The contest is open to any child from the Colorado Springs community ages 3 to 10.

Here’s how to submit a Valentine’s Day card:

Send your homemade Valentine’s Day card to Community Relations and drop or mail it to the Police Operations Center at 705 Southern Nevada Avenue. Be sure to include the child’s name and age, as well as the parent or guardian’s name and phone number. The competition runs from January 14, 2022 to February 8, 2022.

On January 14, 2022, CSPD began accepting submissions.

On February 8, 2022, the first three cards were chosen by the Nischi Chief.

Community voting on social media for the first three cards on February 8, 2022.

Community voting on social media closes on February 11, 2022.

On February 14, 2022, the winner will be announced.
