Christmas Wrapping Ideas – Lipstick, love and laughter

It may sound strange to say, but wrapping presents is something that I really look forward to at Christmas time, even though my boyfriend and I buy for so many people and end up having what feels like hundreds of presents to wrap! Choosing my wrapping paper, ribbon and tags is always something I can’t wait to do and wrapping people’s presents up so they look too good to open is always my goal! It feels so Christmassy to sit down in the living room with a Christmas film on, surrounded by everyone’s presents and rolls of wrapping paper and of course I love to go OTT with lots of different ribbon, string and tags! I really love the way my presents turned out this year so this is why I thought I would share some wrapping ideas with you today!

This year I went to HomeSense in November and was lucky enough to have a load of gorgeous wrapping paper to choose from and I ended up choosing three rolls that I loved! The first two rolls I brought were a gold and white theme – one roll had a gold background with white polka dots and the other had a white background with a gold and black tree print on it. I absolutely adore this wrapping paper and think it looks so pretty! I brought some gold ribbon, gold rectangular tags and some really cute deer tags to go with the paper from Wilko and I am so pleased with how they ended up looking…

The last roll of wrapping paper I brought from Home Sense was this lovely brown paper packaging style paper with a black Christmas tree and deer print on it. I loved this paper because it is so simple, but so pretty at the same time. I think the little Christmas trees and deer look so cute and the paper is also so easy to match with different coloured string and tags. For this wrapping theme I picked up some brown and red string from Wilko and Tiger and also brought a set of brown and red bows from Poundland which were amazing value for money as I only needed one pack to do most of my Christmas presents with! For this present I used one of the Wilko deer tags, but I also picked up an amazing pack of 24 red and green tags from Primark that had different pictures and writing designs on the front of each tag.

My last wrapping paper set was brought from Next and is this really pretty gold and pink wrapping set with this shimmery pink ribbon and tags that say ‘Winter Wonderland’ in lovely writing. Although I love this set, I have to say that I would not consider it good value for money as you only get 3 metres of paper, with limited string and only 3 tags which would have been really impractical for me to use as my main wrapping paper as I needed over 20 tags! However, the design is absolutely beautiful with all of the glitter! We picked this up as we had a few more presents to wrap and not enough wrapping paper left and I am absolutely in love with all of the presents we wrapped up with this as I think they look so festive and pretty!

My advice for present wrapping is that you need to make sure all of your paper, tags, ribbon and string matches as this will make your presents look well put together and will show that you have put a lot of thought into your wrapping. Although I am not the best wrapper, I still have to get my mum to assist me on ‘tricky presents’, I would say that taking your time to wrap presents is essential in making them look the best they can and if that means starting to wrap early, so it’s not one mad rush, then I would say it is worth it! This year I have wrapped as I’ve brought and chose a few presents to bring down to wrap in front of a Christmas film on nights where I am just staying in which has made it more of an enjoyable experience rather than a chore!

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my Christmas wrapping this year! I hope I have helped inspire you if you have not chosen your wrapping paper yet or encouraged you to put your favourite Christmas film on and get started! Leave a comment telling me about your wrapping this year – have you got a theme?

Thank you for reading!

Love Becca x
