Businesses prepare for Super Bowl, Valentine’s Day

LAKEWORTH BEACH, Fla. — Super Bowl Sunday and Valentine’s Day are back to back.

WPTV investigates how local businesses are preparing for both.

“Super Bowl Sunday, this is the place to watch the big game,” waiter Matt Barack said.

Downtown Lake Worth Beach is getting ready for the Super Bowl. At Dave’s Last Resort & Raw Bar, they have over a dozen TVs to watch and specials on cold beer and hot wings.

“Our wings are hotter than your girlfriend. The beer is colder than my ex-wife. It’s delicious! You have to be at Dave’s,” Barack said.

Wings and beer aren’t the only big prep events this weekend.

With Valentine’s Day just a few days away, the flower shop is busy.

“It just started picking up yesterday,” said Patti Sheldon, owner of Awe Flowers, Inc.

From balloons to teddy bears and chocolates. At Awe Flowers along the Federal Highway in Lake Worth, Valentine’s Day merchandise is selling fast.

But if you want those classic red roses for your significant other – you better order them quickly.

Awe Flowers has more than 20 orders to fill, but can make room for more.

“If you’re going to show up on the 14th, of course you can pick up your Valentine’s Day gift. But make sure it’s before 6pm on the 14th because we want people to get flowers early tomorrow on the 11th,” Shelton said.
