“I was telling my dad about dragons,” Martinez said. “He just told me I should do it because I’m Chinese and I know what to do.”
As part of KGC’s Valentine’s Day campaign, Martinez and Brenda Biehler Turville were able to pause their keiki event set up in a special room near Jamba Juice.
The Valentine’s Day sale kicked off on January 29, when KGC launched its popular Valentine’s Day shopping and dining program. The sale will run until February 11, where KGC shoppers can redeem receipts for dining vouchers. Details can be found on several posters at the centre.
This weekend also marks the opening of Friday’s Kauai Quilt Show at the Kauai Artists Guild Gallery, with a special quilt meet-and-greet from 5-8 p.m.
“We’ll be there when the time comes,” Tver said. “The selfie station is located in the all-red room across from the keiki event room and Oki’s Bento, and will be open from 3pm, and we’ll have some special appearances from Showtime Characters, including unicorns and others.”
Character and keiki activities are also offered on Saturdays from 11am to 3pm and on Sundays, including a variety of homemade crafts.
“What about the Super Bowl?” Tver asked. “Super Bowl LVI is Sunday, but Valentine’s Day is Monday. This is keiki’s last chance to enjoy Valentine’s Day.”
