Valentine’s Day is here, and what better way to celebrate the day of love than with your significant other? But if you don’t have them, or haven’t found them, then the romantic type might be the perfect antidote to your February 14 blues.

From inspirational love stories to chance encounters, from heartfelt confessions to rekindling old sparks, some TV shows give us episodes that reinforce our belief in love time and time again.

Here are some of the most romantic TV episodes of all time.

One of the defining qualities of a good show is its ability to remain timeless. Here’s a list of the most enduring episodes of Valentine’s Day watches, some of which may never fall out of favor in pop culture.

1) Grey’s Anatomy Season 2 Episode 5

The medical drama reaches its zenith as Dr. Meredith Gray (Ellen Pompeo) finally speaks to Dr. Derek Sheppard (Patrick Dempsey) about her feelings. She probably uttered the most romantic line in pop culture when she told Shepherd:

“Pick me, pick me, love me.”

This episode was loved by many Grey’s Anatomy Fans have been following this episode since it aired on October 23, 2005.

2) The Office Season 6 Episode 5

“Nigra: Part 2”

Is there a better show to watch than this? office? The show is still as popular as it was more than a decade ago, with one of the most moving episodes in Nigra: Part 2.

This episode completes the long-awaited union of possibly TV’s most popular couple, Jim Harpert (John Krasinski) and Pam Beasley (Jenna Fischer).

There are so many amazing moments in this episode that fans can’t stand it, and it’s been at the top of Valentine’s Day’s most fan-favorite episode lists since it aired in October 2009.

3) This is episode 14 of our season 1

“My Name is Marriage”

The presence this is us For fans of the romance genre, this list should come as no surprise. Over the years, the show has actually set the standard for romantic expectations, thanks to great protagonists like Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia).

“I Call Marriage” has been a hit since its release in February 2017. Jack Pearson brings his wife Rebecca (Mandy Moore) to their first apartment, rekindling their spark. He had to go through a lot to do that. But there aren’t many places in the world where you feel at home like the first time, right?

4) Friends season 6, episodes 25 and 26


Few shows can match the feel of this double episode friends generate. The final two episodes of season six deal with the ongoing tension between Monica (Courtney Cox) and Chandler (Matthew Perry).

While the episode itself is very dramatic, with Monica meeting her ex before Chandler, who fears commitment, finally proposes to her, the ending is one of the sweetest and most romantic moments on TV.

While the show itself has a high repeat viewing rate, it’s part of what fans want to relive on Valentine’s Day. The series aired on May 18, 2000, but remains popular more than two decades later.

The final scene where Monica and Chandler sit in a candlelit room expressing love to each other (with Eric Clapton in the background) is sure to make anyone “wow.”

5) Brooklyn 9.9 Season 5, Episode 4


Brooklyn Nine Nine’s Power couple Jack (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero) are no strangers to the love and affection of their global fans. Halloween in the 99th District is always special, with multiple robberies happening each season.

However, this episode was special because Jack used the heist to propose to Amy. While it shatters the stereotypes surrounding romantic proposals, the show retains its inherently comedic nature. If you’re looking for some light-hearted fun, the HalloVeen is a great watch for Valentine’s Day.
