3 Event Ideas to Make Valentine’s Day 2022 Special | Arts + Culture | Halifax, Nova Scotia

As one meteorologist widely circulated in this week’s weather clip, February is “an honest month: there’s no better life than this month…something great is happening here, but it It’s over, that’s what February is all about.” So, no, you’re not the only one following the rules.
While it was announced today that provincial COVID restrictions will be eased on February 14, the world of events remains on an odd borderline between in-person programming and online offerings.

The good news though is that you and your lover/galentine/roommate, you’re already super close and don’t need to spend love days watching Seinfeld *on Netflix *again*. Instead, here are three local options for a special evening with your special someone:

Stand-up comedy by Yuk Yuk: Adam Delorey with Brittany Campbell, Pragina Maskey
Back in November, when a friend and I went to Dartmouth for a night of indie comedy, we had a laugh at Brittany Campbell’s confessional, related stand-up. Of the list of several comedians, she’s arguably the funniest — and now, you can learn the comedy scene’s best-kept secret by seeing her sizzle onstage at this Parkside Pub show.
February 12, 8pm, Parkside Pub & Smokehouse, 14 Highfield Park Drive, Dartmouth, $15, via eventbrite

Remember dancing? Me too. But Hide + Seek is ready to remind us all with this vaguely themed club night, aimed at couples, thruples and platonic friends. Book a table in advance so you and your bubble of 10 have a guaranteed spot as the night heats up.
February 12, 8pm, Hide + Seek, 1737 Grafton Street, reservation recommended

Revealed: The Music of Dolly Parton
The Neptune Theatre presents the Queen of the Nation with a musical company hat, a satirical play of Parton’s production featuring inventive arrangements and some of the country’s top musical theatre talents. The filmed performance can be streamed via Neptune’s own streaming app, perfect for the obsessive Dolly in your life (believe there’s more to it than you can imagine).
Feb. 11-19, neptuneathome.com, $20
